Smoking is a pass time that is encouraged and accepted by many as a relaxing

and cool thing to do. Although many people do it and try to ignore the bad effects of smoking, nobody

can escape these bad effects. Smoking poses three main hazards: Health hazards, Endangering others,

and Spiritual hazards.

The first of the three hazards of smoking are the health hazards it presents. The

firs reason and the most dreadful reason is the big possibility of getting lung cancer. The soot from the

smoke in cigarettes can permanently blacken your teeth, and can also cause gingivitis. Also, smoking

can cause various skin diseased such as melanoma, which make your skin look rally bad. Given there

reasons given, the habit of smoking and the acceptance of it is most unreasonable.

The second hazard smoking presents is the fact that you are endangering others

while smoking around them. The first way to do this is by secondhand smoke. Second hand smoke is

the smoke you breathe out of your lungs; it can be inhaled by non smokers and cause them to have

health problems. The second way that smoking endangers others is by bad example, seeing you

smoke. Lastly, as if someone would have the nerve to do this, smoking presents the urging of the

smoker t the nonsmoker to take up the habit.
Perhaps the most important reason to reconsider smoking as a pastime is the

spiritual hazards it presents. The body is the temple of the holy spirit. Smoking makes the body dirty,

and thus makes the temple of the Holy Spirit unfit. Also, the fact that you could get cancer leads to the

unmistakeable fact that you are slowly committing suicide. A reason that is most disgusting is that

some people step out of church for a smoke break! Smoking not only harms your body, but also your

soul.
The Three Major Effects of the Sacrament of Baptism.

When Jesus was on earth, he instituted some spiritual aids to help us get

to heaven. Those helps are called the Sacraments, and they are outward signs instituted by Christ to

give grace. One of the more important sacraments is Baptism. There are three main effects of the

Sacrament of Baptism: remission of Original sin, remission of venial and mortal sins if any, and

becoming children of God and heirs of Heaven.

The first major effect of the sacrament of Baptism is the remission of

Original sin. This is good, because the person is ridding himself of a terrible sin committed by our first

parents, Adam and Eve. When one is forgiven that sin, one has obtained the sacred and essential state

of grace which will open the road to Heaven. Accompanied by that grace, one gets many gifts from

God to further help him on the narrow road to Heaven. Baptism, an essential Sacrament to salvation,

gets rid of the stain of Original sin.

Also, another effect of the sacrament of Baptism is the remission of venial

and mortal sins if any are on the soul. This makes it easier for a person to get into the state of grace.

When a person receives Baptism in the state of mortal or venial sin, the punishment and the sins

themselves are forgiven and forgotten. This effect of the sacrament of Baptism makes it easier for a

person to be in the state of grace and in the Church.

Another effect of the Sacrament of Baptism is that we become children

of God and heirs of Heaven. When a person receives Baptism, the water washes away his Original sin

and makes him children of God and heirs of heaven. A a result, he has the right to go to Heaven so

long as he remains faithful to God our Father and dies in the state of sanctifying grace. However, the

sacrament of Baptism is also a help to one here on earth because he then becomes part of the

organization or Church of Christ.

The sacrament of Baptism, the most important sacrament of the

Church, has many effects including the remission of Original sin, any mortal and venial sins if any

on the soul, and becoming children of God and heirs of Heaven. This sacrament frees one from

Original sin and the clenches of the devil. It is a great sacrament since it takes away the temporal and

eternal punishment due to unforgiven mortal sins and venial sins. This great sacrament is very

important because it allows one to receive the other sacraments, and puts him on the road to Heaven.
